Jillifar Amor
When Jillifar’s husband retired they moved to the delightful village of Dennington in Suffolk, leaving her the time to persue her lifelong interests in the Arts. Her background training is fashion, studying embroidery, dress and millinery design at The London School of Fashion (Barrett Technical College in her day). After graduating she went into merchandising, spending several years as a freelance design artist.
The Suffolk countryside is a constant inspiration, atmosphere and surroundings that she tries to capture in her art, be it seaside, landscape or garden settings. She works in many mediums – oil, pastel, watercolour and collage
Jillifar Particularly admires Harry Becker’s work, capturing farm workers hard at work on the land and she has been a member of the IBBAS (inspired by Harry Becker Art Society). In the past she ran their plein air sketching group which went out in all weathers to local venues – she particularly remembers snow at Snape Maltings and a deluge at Dunwich. She is now a member of the East Anglian Plein Air Arts, FAS and DVHAS.
Her other main interest is in textile design - dyeing, painting silk and distressing fabric ready to embellish paint and embroider.
